Panda Dog

What’s the Price of a Panda Dog?

If you’ve read other parts of this website, you’ll know by now, that there’s no such thing as a Panda Dog breed. Owners of dogs such as Poodles and Maltese use black (hopefully puppy safe) hair dye to color their dogs with Panda looking spots.  There’s no point contacting a breeder and asking for a “Panda Dog”. They will most probably laugh in your face.

If you still have your heart set on this designer canine, you can just create one yourself. Buy a white furred dog such as a Maltese or Poodle. Maltese puppies which you can turn into a Panda Dog price around $500 to $900. Miniature, Toy and Standard Poodles price between $500 and $1,300. The hair dye, from a pet shop, will price you around $20.

Whatever you do, make sure you’re buying a dog for the right reasons. If you just want a novelty “Panda Dog” as an accessory or to show off to your friends, I would suggest you read our Panda Dog Cruelty page.

Owning a dog is a long term commitment, around 15 years. The hair dye will only last 4 to 6 washes, meaning to retain that cute “Panda Dog” look, will require constant redyeing and dye touch ups. If you think you’ll be disappointed once the dye wears off and that you won’t feel the same about your pooch, don’t buy one in the first place. Dogs are meant for companionship, not as a fashion statement.
